At the EFHK airport, I was surprised that there was no option for IFR clearance; the tower only allowed for VFR flights. Take off was ok. I think I'm getting better. When I was near ESSA, I asked for clearance to land on runway 1R, which was granted. Although the runway had ILS, for some reason I couldn't establish it on the localizer. So, I was forced to do a manual landing, using the GPS as my guide to get to the assigned runway. Landing was soft, but I pulled back on the stick too early, that the wheels left the ground a bit. I was able to recover and finally got the tail wheel on the ground. However, I didn't realize that I was running out of runway. To cut the long story short, I overshot the runway :) I had busted wheels after this and the plane required a complete overhaul.
